Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You include relevant details about the event, such as the date, the approximate number of guests, the colour scheme and the equipment needed. You also identify positive features—the hotel’s ambience, service and food—and raise practical concerns about decoration, timing and the awards area. However, the purpose and requests are not always clear: “remaing details i will provide you shortly” leaves the event arrangements incomplete, and the improvement points are difficult to interpret. The letter would address the task more fully if you clearly separated what you appreciated from specific, polite requests for the event day, explaining exactly what the hotel should improve or arrange.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable letter structure, with an opening, event information, comments on the hotel and a closing. The ideas are grouped into paragraphs, which helps the reader identify the main topics. However, progression within the paragraphs is often unclear, particularly in the long section beginning “The area of improvement,” where several requests are joined together without a clear order. Linking phrases such as “so” and “or” do not always show the intended relationship between ideas, and references such as “their perfect place” are unclear. Use one paragraph for each bullet point and organise the improvement requests as separate, complete sentences to make the message easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for an event letter, including “annual event,” “ambiance,” “decoration,” “projector” and “awards.” These choices show that you can communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “aurganized,” “standies,” “orv” and “deliverd.” Some expressions are also imprecise, including “the place we need for awards” and “the material we provided you.” Choose standard, specific terms and check spelling; for example, name the equipment as banners, stands and LED screens, and describe the awards area as a designated presentation space. More accurate collocations would make the requests sound clearer and more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The letter attempts to communicate several kinds of information, but sentence structures are mostly simple or joined into long, faulty sentences. Frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries can make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “we planned to aurganized” does not form a correct verb construction, while “our total guest are 450” has problems with number and agreement. The long sentence about the decoration team and awards area also lacks clear grammatical structure. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense and singular/plural agreement. For instance: “We expect 450 guests” and “Please ensure the decoration team arrives on time.”
