Dear Sir / Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this to highlight the event details along with some feedback regarding the Tech Hub Inc. Golden Ceremony event that you have organised a week ago.
The event includes the seating arrangements for 150 people with some special seatings for respected guests and officials. In addition to that you have also managed the food and security. The oveall event was good especially the welcome drink for everyone, air conditioning of the hall and the presentation of the gifts are on the top of cherry that makes the overall event more memorable.
Having said this, I would like to suggest one improvement regarding the seating space, as the chairs were little bit conjusted that makes some disturbance when people move. The second suggestion is related to the cleanliness of the rest rooms that needed to be clean more oftenly in large gatherings.
Thanks again for all of your efforts.
Yours sincerely,
Ahmed Zaib

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three required points: it identifies the Tech Hub Inc. Golden Ceremony, describes arrangements for 150 guests, praises the welcome drink, air conditioning and gift presentation, and suggests improvements to seating and restroom cleanliness. These details make the response relevant and the purpose clear. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, the event description mainly lists arrangements, while the positive feedback does not explain how these features benefited guests. The improvement requests are specific, but could be more tactfully framed and supported with a practical suggestion. A clearer account of the event’s date or nature, alongside a little more explanation of the hotel’s strengths and proposed changes, would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening purpose, a paragraph about the event and positive features, a paragraph of suggestions, and an appropriate closing. The sequence is easy to follow, and phrases such as “In addition to that” and “Having said this” help signal relationships between ideas. This already gives the response a coherent progression. However, some linking is mechanical, and the second paragraph combines event logistics with praise in a long sequence, making the focus less clear. The reference in “that makes the overall event more memorable” is also not fully precise because it follows several different features. Grouping the event details separately from the hotel praise, and using clearer references and more varied transitions, would make cohesion more flexible and natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses enough vocabulary to communicate the event and feedback, including “seating arrangements,” “respected guests,” “security,” and “cleanliness.” It also attempts more expressive language, such as “memorable,” but several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce precision. Examples include “special seatings,” “on the top of cherry,” “conjusted,” and “more oftenly”; these are not natural or accurate forms in this context. “The event details” and “the food and security” are understandable but could be expressed more precisely. Aim for standard collocations such as “reserved seating,” “a highlight,” “cramped,” and “more frequently.” Proofreading spelling and choosing natural phrases will help make the message sound more professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and more developed sentence forms, including the opening purpose statement and the sentence beginning “Having said this.” Most ideas remain understandable, and the letter’s basic sentence structure is generally clear. Some grammatical errors nevertheless affect accuracy. In “that you have organised a week ago,” the past-time reference calls for a past form; “The event includes” also shifts tense from the completed event. In “the chairs were little bit conjusted that makes,” the article and the relationship between the clauses need correction, for example, “the chairs were a little cramped, which caused…” The phrase “rest rooms that needed to be clean” also has an incorrect verb pattern. Review tense consistency, articles and clause construction to improve control.
