Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing this to provide you my feedback regarding the recent event at your hotel.
Firstly, the event was organised by a pharmaceutical company to give awareness about their newly launched medicine for influenza. They arranged it in the hall at the second floor. Moreover, some intellectual discussions were held by the respected doctors.
Secondly, what I enjoyed most is the scenic view of the mountains from the second floor. On top of that, the seating arrangement was perfectly fine and the serivces provided were absolutely remarkable.
Furthermore, I would like to suggest areas that needs to be improve is the lack of lighting system. There were not enough lights for this type of event and the chairs were not properly made they ere looking dirty.
I hope you would look these areas personally for the next event in the future.
Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Fareah Aziz

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three required points: it identifies the pharmaceutical-company event and its purpose, describes the mountain view and seating positively, and raises concerns about lighting and chair cleanliness. These details make the response relevant and give the manager a clear overall impression. The event description is somewhat more developed than the praise and suggestions, however; for example, “some intellectual discussions” gives little detail about the programme, while the improvement points are not explained in terms of their effect on guests. The closing request to review the issues is appropriate. To strengthen the response further, add one or two specific details about the event and explain how the hotel could address the problems before future functions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information follows a clear progression from the event details to what you liked, then to improvements and a closing. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these purposes, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Furthermore” make the sequence easy to follow. The organisation is effective, though the repeated ordinal transitions make the letter feel somewhat formulaic rather than naturally connected. The shift from the positive comments to the criticism is understandable, but the improvement sentence combines lighting and chair condition in a way that is difficult to follow. Use paragraphing to separate the two concerns and connect ideas with more natural transitions, such as “However” or “One issue we noticed was…”.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the purpose, including “scenic view,” “seating arrangement,” and “remarkable,” and the reader can understand the main points. There are also attempts at more formal expressions, such as “provide you my feedback” and “areas for improvement,” although some combinations are not natural or precise. “Give awareness” and “intellectual discussions” do not convey the intended meaning idiomatically, while “the chairs were not properly made” is unclear when the concern appears to be their condition. Spelling slips such as “serivces” and “ere” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and precise descriptions—for example, say that the event raised awareness and that the chairs were stained or poorly maintained.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The letter includes both simple statements and attempts at more complex structures, and its meaning is generally clear. However, some grammatical errors remain, particularly in the sentence about suggested improvements: “areas that needs to be improve is” has problems with agreement, verb form, and sentence construction. Other examples include “I hope you would look these areas” and “Looking forward to hear from you,” where the verb patterns are not controlled. There are also punctuation and spacing issues, such as the missing space after “floor.” To improve, use a straightforward structure when making requests and check agreement and verb forms—for instance, “I would like to suggest two areas for improvement” and “I look forward to hearing from you.”
