Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing debate stating that government should make fruits and vegetables cheaper while others claim that there should be tax placed on the unhealthy food. I firmly comment that both norms are correct as fruits and vegetables are much nutrious whereas the unhealthy food could cause many health risks. Below essay will enlighten the both statements in detail.
Fruits and vegetables constitues numerous nutritions that benefits the human body in different ways. For example: oranges have Vitamin C that glows the skin and apple has Vitamin A that improves the eye sight. Thus, similiar trend follows for vegetables. In addition to this, they are easy to afford during the peak season but are unaffordable during the off season of the year. Moreover, it is easier for the wealthier people to buy them but hard for the people who are below the poverty line. As a result, government should lower the price cost so that all the individuals can attain the benefits of these items and the money difference could be eliminated.
Probing further, unhealthy food items should be taxed. Unhealthy food items like burger, pizza, momos, noodles etc. are easily accessible because of their low cost. For example: A burger cost 30 rupees whereas a kilogram of fruits and vegetables costs about 200 rupees. Hence, this price difference attracts community to eat burger while saving money without knowing the consequences of it when consumed for long term. These items pose many health risks like obesity, heart attacks, respiration problems.
To conclude, prices of both fruits and vegetables should be lowered so that the whole society can consume and intake essentila nutritions without worrying about the cost to purchase and unhealthy food should be taxed so that it can cover the price difference of purchase and also aware society to make mindfull choice of eating.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and state a clear position: you support making produce cheaper and taxing unhealthy food. Relevant reasons include affordability for people below the poverty line and the health risks associated with fast food, with examples such as the price comparison between a burger and produce. This covers the task well, and the examples help make your argument concrete. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The nutritional examples about oranges and apples are brief, and the final claim that tax revenue could cover the price difference is introduced without explaining how such a policy would work. Develop these links and clarify the practical basis for your opinion to make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each policy view, and a conclusion. The progression from affordability to the case for taxing unhealthy food is easy to follow, and signposts such as “In addition to this,” “Probing further,” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. At times, however, these transitions feel formulaic, and some links between claims are not fully explained. For instance, the move from seasonal affordability to the effect on people below the poverty line could be connected more explicitly. The conclusion also combines several ideas in one long sentence, making the final recommendation less clear. Use referencing and transitions more naturally, and give the conclusion a cleaner structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “unhealthy food items,” “health risks,” “poverty line,” and “price difference.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “ongoing debate” and “consequences.” However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors reduce precision and sometimes make the writing sound unnatural. Examples include “nutrious,” “numerous nutritions,” “lower the price cost,” and “mindfull choice.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “respiration problems” for a health consequence. Build a more accurate range of common collocations and check spelling and word forms; this will make your ideas clearer without requiring more complicated vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “whereas,” “so that,” and “because,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. Some sentence patterns are controlled, such as “These items pose many health risks.” However, errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries recur: “government should,” “Fruits and vegetables constitues,” and “a burger cost” need grammatical adjustment. There are also punctuation problems where sentences run together, as in “eye sight. Thus” and “low cost. For example.” The final sentence is long and difficult to control. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and articles, and divide longer ideas into complete sentences while retaining a range of clause structures.
