Student answer (Band 6.0)
Health is an essential part of people's lives. Some people believe that the authorities should make fruits and vegetables cheaper. Whereas others think that tax should be applied on unhealthy food items. From my perspective, by making fruits and vegetables affordable, people may buy more organic products, rather than fried food.I will elaborate on reasons along with examples in the following paragraphs.
The primary reason why fruits and vegetable should not be expensive is that this is a healthy option for people. Such healthy products are rich in electrolights such as natural vitamins, iron or sugar, completing insufficent needs in individuals' body. If the government make these items cheaper, it may encourage people to buy more fruits and vegetables particularily the people who cannot afford expensive and healthy prodcuts. As a result, unnecessary stress of buying fruits and vegatble will reduce as sometimes individuals do not purchase because of high prices of some fruits and vegetables such as watarmelon.
It is also essential to put tax on unhealthy food because it may cause serious health issues such as obesity. Some workers who think cooking is time consuming, prefer to eat outside such as from fast food courts. Although fried food ofen cheaper and easily accessible, it contains unhealthy fat. If a tax is impossed on unhealth produces, people may not have them regularly because they might think these items are not pocket-friendly anymore, they might start to consider heathy options such as meal prep. Therefore, sales of fast food companies may reduce, leading to a healthy society.
In conclusion, by making healthy items such as fruits and vegetables cheaper, society can be encouraged to have healthy options. I strognly believe that unhealthy things should be expensive, which may prevent people to buy them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both proposed approaches and give a clear preference: your introduction and conclusion support making healthy food affordable, while also arguing that unhealthy food should be taxed. Relevant reasons include affordability for people on lower incomes and the possible health effects of frequent fast-food consumption. This covers the task well, but the two sides are not developed equally: the case for cheaper produce receives more explanation, whereas the tax argument relies mainly on the idea that higher prices will discourage purchases. The example of watermelon illustrates price concerns, but a more specific example or explanation of how a tax might affect choices would strengthen the discussion. Your position is clear, though its implications could be explored more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression from affordability to taxation is easy to follow, and signposts such as “The primary reason,” “It is also essential,” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and a few connections between ideas are not fully clear. For example, the opening “Whereas others think” is attached awkwardly to the preceding sentence, while “Therefore” introduces a result without much explanation of the link between reduced fast-food sales and a healthier society. Use transitions more naturally and make the relationship between each reason and its consequence explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “affordable,” “obesity,” “unhealthy fat,” and “pocket-friendly,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “electrolytes” and “meal prep,” but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “electrolytes such as natural vitamins, iron or sugar” is not a suitable description, and “unhealthy produces” does not fit the intended meaning. Spelling errors such as “insufficent,” “particularily,” and “watarmelon,” along with repeated use of “healthy” and “unhealthy,” limit precision. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling; a more varied set of terms for nutritious foods and processed foods would make the argument clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If the government make these items cheaper” and a concession beginning “Although fried food…”. The overall meaning remains clear, but some errors in agreement, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “the government make” should use a singular verb, and “fruits and vegetable should not be expensive” has a number-agreement problem. The opening “Whereas others think…” is a fragment, and several sentences run together or lack spaces after punctuation, as in “food.I will” and “As a result, unnecessary.” Review subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries, then proofread punctuation. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
