Student answer (Band 5.5)

The given data demonstrates that cosmetic surgery has become widely common across the world. Everyone have there different perspectives related to this, some people choose these procedures to change their personality while others have them for medical reasons.

The reason behind of this popularity is modern technology such as smart phones, internet, television. All of these are their big platformes for advertising, they use these grounds to advertise their products and it become easy for them after invention of social media. With the help of social media they can reached to their consumers easily. The social media influencers play a key role in advertising, so companies hired them to engage coustomers. Nowdays, people follow their influencers lead that whatever he did they have to do. If the influencers promot the cosmetic surgery then definetily everyone want to do that. In this era everone jsut want to look good because they think they gain more respect or value by that way. So, thats how it becoem so popular.

In my opinion, this is a negative evolution. There are many reasons such as they change public thinking ability and lack their confidence. This theme change entirely public view related person. Nowdays everyone just judging people by their looks rather than their ability or chracter. In early times people just judge a person by his chracter and his ability related to his profession. But in this time people judge by their looks because in many companies or shops they wanted to hire beautiful girls or boys for glamour and attracting new coustmers. This idea impact badly on ugly people or average people because of this they are not able to find a job anywhere. Therfore they go for cosmetic surgery but here is a problem for middel class people who cant afford this expensive treatment so they lose their confidence and left disperat.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you explain popularity through social media, influencers and pressure to look attractive, then clearly state that you view cosmetic surgery as a negative development. The discussion of appearance-based hiring and its effect on people who cannot afford procedures is relevant and gives your position some support. However, the reasons are not equally developed. The popularity explanation would be stronger with a specific example or a clearer account of why people themselves choose surgery, beyond following influencers. The negative effects are also presented broadly, and the claim that people are judged mainly by looks could use more explanation or evidence. Develop each main point with a concrete example and clarify the links between cause and consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining popularity and a paragraph giving your opinion. The main ideas are generally grouped appropriately, and phrases such as “In my opinion” help signal the shift to your evaluation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several claims are joined in long sequences, and links can feel mechanical. For example, the popularity paragraph moves from advertising to influencers, then to respect and appearance without clearly separating these steps. Some references, such as “this idea” and “that way,” are not fully precise. Use clearer topic sentences, divide complex chains into shorter sentences, and make each linking phrase show the exact relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “social media influencers,” “advertising,” “confidence,” and “cosmetic surgery,” so the reader can understand your main points. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as appearance-based hiring and attracting customers. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the message less clear. Examples include “change their personality” where you mean appearance, “big platformes,” and “lose their confidence and left disperat.” Spelling errors such as “coustomers,” “definetily,” and “chracter” also reduce precision. Build a bank of topic-specific phrases and check spelling, word forms, and natural combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and conditional phrasing such as “If the influencers promote…”. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but control of sentence structure and basic grammar is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “Everyone have there different perspectives” has an agreement and possessive-form problem, while “they can reached” and “companies hired them” show errors in verb forms and tense. Some sentences also run together, particularly in the popularity paragraph, making clause relationships unclear. Practise subject–verb agreement, past and present verb forms, and sentence boundaries; then proofread each sentence to ensure it has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
