Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is widely argued that budgeting earnings to utlize it in the future is growing debate nowadays, while some people still prefer to use their major part of their salaries while working. People who wants to use this money after retirement so they can do things they desire to do like world tour and others wanted to live their best life during working so they can enjoy their prime time to maximum. In this essay, I will demonstate you view of both sides and explain you my views that why I think that balanced life is better if we equally consume our savings throughout the life.

Some individuals are so busy in their professional life that they cannot spare time for leisure during their jobs. These type of people then save money in their bank and pension fund accounts so they can enjoy their life after getting retire from job. In this way, they have plenty of savings in their accounts which they can spend it later. For example, it is very common in western culture to save money for world tour by the couples in their old age when they have plenty of time to enjoy the time, but some people critics that the health is not upto mark at that age, which limits your activities like walking.

In this modern world, the majority of people loved to enjoy their present rather than saving money for old age. This is because of the inflation in the job markets and common health issues in old ages. Job markets are unstable due to recession all over the world, due to which people have limited resources to save it for future. Fast food and unhealthy foods are causing health problems which have a huge impact on age. I think these are the reasons people are prefering to spend their money while working.

I think that we need to utilise your saving evenly so we can enjoy our life in present as well in future. If we budgeting it evenly gives us a chance to enjoy every part of our age. For instance, some people divides their income in such way that they used half of it while working and able to save half of it for retirement life.

In conclusion, saving money is essential to live a balanced life so it is a better decision to consume your income equally througout your life that creates a balance in life and gives you a happy life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear preference for balancing present spending with future savings. The first body paragraph explains why people save for retirement and gives a relevant example of couples planning a world tour; the next discusses reasons people may spend while earning. Your own position is also illustrated through dividing income between current use and retirement. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: the links between inflation, unstable job markets and spending are not entirely clear, and the health argument could be developed more precisely. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each approach and connect your examples more directly to the benefits or risks of saving and spending. Your conclusion reinforces your view, though it largely repeats the introduction’s idea of balance.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, a paragraph giving your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and phrases such as “For example” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. In the first body paragraph, the shift from retirement travel to criticism of older people’s health is abrupt, while the repeated use of “due to” in the spending paragraph makes the reasoning feel list-like. References such as “these are the reasons” could identify the points more specifically. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make each paragraph’s progression more deliberate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “pension fund accounts,” “retirement,” “inflation,” “recession” and “balanced life.” These choices allow you to discuss both financial planning and quality of life. However, several word-choice and collocation errors reduce precision, such as “budgeting earnings to utilize it,” “world tour by the couples,” and “enjoy the time.” There are also spelling errors, including “utlize,” “demonstate,” “prefering” and “througout.” Some expressions are repeated, particularly “life” and “enjoy.” Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; a more precise vocabulary would make your ideas sound clearer and more controlled.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “so,” “because” and “which.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “People who wants” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “the majority of people loved” uses an unsuitable tense for a general statement. In “If we budgeting it evenly,” the conditional clause is incomplete, while “some people divides” again has an agreement problem. There are also unclear sentence constructions, such as “I will demonstrate you view of both sides.” Work on agreement, verb forms and complete conditional structures, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb. This will improve accuracy while preserving your attempts at complex sentences.
