Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is true that the heritage of the countries has been becoming older day by day. Many individuals think that old building, like town halls and art galleries, museums, have to be restored, though government have to spend too much on it, whereas other argue that authorities must convert them with new, advance building. I personally stay with the former view, even though both the aspects will be discuss in the following essay.
To commence with, there are several advantages of restoration of old buildings it would improve the economic growth. To explain, if people want to see the history of any place, they have to explore the historical building, museums, which gives them all information about specific place. Because of this, local and central council can make money, if its look the same the ratio of tourist will increase. For example, government spend huge money for restoring the Taj Mahal, but they also cover that money, by attracting people to visit there. As a result, restoration has to done, if it is costly.
On the other hand, there are also other views of replacing old heritage with modern building. Firstly, natives can learn to adapt not only new culture but also they learn how to use new technology. In addition, when old building change with the new one people can know the difference between building. Moreover, sometimes technology assist to make old articture as same as it used to by using advance machinery. To cite an example, numerous schools take their pupils to visit those buildings, which motivate them to learn and enhance their skills and clearly know about the history. Thus, it is also better way to convert old buildings to advance one.
In my opinion, restoration is the best way to preserve country's heritage and pass on to the next generation, if authorities have to send some more money on it.
In conclusion, it can be reiterate that some think spending huge amount of money on restoration, however, other think they need to convert them in modern buildings. I agree with the former view those old building has to be restored, which help humans to know about early generation, how they survive and what skills they had.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The position is consistent throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the argument for restoration is supported by the example of the Taj Mahal, the counter-argument regarding modern buildings is less clearly articulated, with some points, such as 'natives can learn to adapt not only new culture', being vague. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, though it repeats some of the earlier phrasing. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained with more precise reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'if its look the same the ratio of tourist will increase'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs more variety and precision to achieve a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'heritage', 'restored', and 'architecture'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'convert them with new, advance building' (instead of 'replace them with') and 'if its look the same' (instead of 'if they retain their appearance'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Improving precision in word choice would significantly enhance the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('government have to spend', 'restoration has to done') and article usage. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with sentence boundaries and comma usage. The errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, though they rarely impede communication. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentence structures are constructed with greater accuracy.
