Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks for a discussion on the restoration versus replacement of old buildings, but the essay focuses entirely on traffic congestion. Furthermore, the response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it contains only 225 words. Because the content does not address the task question at all, it cannot be evaluated for task development or position. This results in a very low score for Task Achievement, as the candidate has failed to respond to the specific prompt provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is severely hindered by the lack of relevance to the prompt. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical and often incorrect manner, such as 'Majorly' and 'first and forest' (likely a misspelling of 'first and foremost'). Referencing is often unclear, and the transition between ideas is disjointed. While there is an attempt to structure the essay with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, the lack of a coherent argument makes the overall flow difficult to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'morden' instead of 'modern', 'parvide' instead of 'provide', and 'responsiblely' instead of 'responsibility'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and many collocations are unnatural or incorrect, such as 'road repaid of residents area'. The lexical errors are frequent and occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with frequent errors. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'This problem have solutions' and 'many cities have not good road condition'. Punctuation is also problematic, with erratic use of commas and periods. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are almost always faulty, leading to a lack of clarity. The high frequency of grammatical errors makes the text difficult to read and understand.
