Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 123 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you have identified both sides of the argument and stated a clear position, the ideas are severely underdeveloped due to the lack of length. The essay stops abruptly in the second paragraph, meaning the discussion of the second viewpoint and the conclusion are entirely missing. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and specific examples to meet the minimum length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay shows some basic logical organization, using a transition like 'On the one hand' to introduce the first point. However, because the response is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, there is no overall progression or conclusion. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending prevents a coherent structure. To improve, ensure you complete your thoughts and use a wider range of cohesive devices, such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast', to link your ideas more fluidly throughout the entire essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the topic, including terms like 'ancient historical landmarks', 'restored', and 'tourism'. However, the range is limited, and there are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'supports for tourism' (should be 'supports tourism') and 'regardless the cost' (should be 'regardless of the cost'). The vocabulary is sufficient to convey basic meaning but lacks the variety and precision required for higher bands. Expanding your range of synonyms and collocations will help improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'it's cost' (should be 'its cost'), 'the our past' (should be 'our past'), and 'how they build their own country' (tense inconsistency). Punctuation is also inconsistent. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the clarity of your writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, correct pronoun usage, and consistent verb tenses will significantly improve your accuracy.
