Student answer (Band 6.5)
Old monuments should be repaired and restored according to some individuals while, others argue that modern buildings should replace these ancient buildings. However, I believe that government should spend money and restore as much as old galleries and halls they can save.
As all the old buildings preserves ancient history, lifestyles and traditions which could help the younger generation to experience and learn. As, monuments from 90s reflects how there was only one king and queen who manages all the empire and take care of their community during the wars and in difficult times .Additionally, these buildings also attracts tourisms which helps to boost the nations economy. As a result, rulers should keep these old monuments preserved.
Although, new modern buildings can help the nation to create more jobs and employment. For instance, jobs like demolishers, construction workers or office jobs will generate if government replace these old buildings. However, nations younger generation can get jobs on higher number in their own cities and they would not have to leave to other nations in search of employments.
In my opinion , both perspectives have string arguments but I still believe these buildings are history of our ancestors and it should not be vanished if government can preserve this as long as they can .
To conclude, although both views have merits and demerits. I believe that history should be preserved at any cost because it helps the individuals to stay connected to their roots and to believe in their principals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'monuments from 90s' is historically vague and lacks depth. The discussion on modern buildings focuses primarily on job creation, which is a relevant point, but it could have been expanded with more specific examples or reasoning to reach a higher band. The position is consistent throughout the essay, but the supporting arguments would benefit from more detailed elaboration to fully meet the requirements of a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Additionally', 'For instance', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as starting a sentence with 'As,' or 'Although,' in a way that creates a fragment. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate for the task, providing a clear structure that separates the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'preserved' and 'demolishers', but there are also instances of word-choice errors, such as 'string arguments' (likely meaning 'strong') and 'higher number' (instead of 'greater numbers'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and the use of '90s' to refer to ancient history is imprecise. While the vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the message, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('monuments... reflects', 'who manages', 'buildings also attracts') and incorrect article usage ('the nations economy'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement before conjunctions. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. More attention to basic grammatical rules and proofreading for small errors would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
