Student answer (Band 7.0)
It has been issue of debate among people that although maintaining the old building could be expansive, we should save them from destruction. However, other think that new buildings should be built on that site. I will discuss both view points in the upcoming paragraphs, while I think restoring the historical site will be better option.
One of the important reasons why historical site should be repaired is identity of nation and culture. In other words, every country has rich culture and tradition, which could only be seen through their past infrastructure. It shows the past life of our ancestors; as a result, people can get know about past lifestyle and hardships that had been faced by their elders. It helps youngsters motive them to learn about history and fell proud about their background. Moreover, these ancient house and sculptures attract the tourist, which will increase the GDP (gross domestic production) of the nation. Not only do old buildings increase cash flow, but it also gives the employment of many people. Hence, even though it is costly to reconstruct old site, it is worthwhile to save identity of the country and attract more tourism.
On the other hand, there are few individuals who opt that the authority ought to build new building on the place of historical buildings. The first and foremost reasons for this is money. To explain this, restoring a old building especially the historical one is hard as compared to building new house or apartment since It takes lots of people and efforts to save the original infrastructure.
In my opinion, while some folks want to build a new building on the historical site, I believe saving the old sites may lead the nation to their bright future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, particularly the arguments regarding cultural identity and economic benefits. However, the development of the second view (replacing buildings) is somewhat limited and lacks the depth seen in the first body paragraph. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, ensure that both sides of the argument are given equal weight and that the conclusion provides a more comprehensive summary of the main points discussed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'In other words', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' are used to link sentences and paragraphs effectively. However, there are some instances where the flow is slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'on that site' in the introduction, which lacks a clear antecedent. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the logical structure is easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.5 or 7.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task. You use some topic-specific terms like 'infrastructure', 'GDP', and 'reconstruct'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor collocation errors, such as 'expansive' instead of 'expensive', 'get know' instead of 'get to know', and 'motive them' instead of 'motivate them'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage. Expanding your range of synonyms and focusing on correct word forms will help you reach a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the identity of nation'), subject-verb agreement ('these ancient house'), and pluralization. Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'it also gives the employment of many people'. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the essay. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically regarding articles and noun-verb agreement, as these are recurring issues that prevent a higher score.
