Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some people argue that historical buildings and cultural galleries should renovate and keep them in contrast others believe that it should replace with latest technology building.
In first hand, people believe that Old constructions shows our cultural values and our new generation can observe and learn about our values through them. On top of that our Museum carry painting, which is meaningful and have a story behind every art. Therefore government should keep these structures and allot yearly budget for their renovations.
On the other hand, Some people argue that those buildings should replace with modern technology structure which can use for multiple purposes. As this is IT era so we should stay updated rater than to live in 18th century or older. These buildings can be use as computer labs and for public library. They also stated that government should not spend on restoration of old buildings. That would be waste of money and efforts. Furthermore they mentioned, those funds can use to update full of new technology.
In my opinion, I personally believe that first arguments have more weightage. Governments should restore galleries and town halls because they are our precious assets. For example whenever we go to visit any country we first visit their heritage. City halls and art galleries play an important role in tourist attractions and also it generate funds for government. It attract tourists and also educate our new generations about our culture, norms and values. Hence our kids will not follow others culture because they have their own.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the cultural value of old buildings versus the functional utility of modern ones. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'IT era' and 'computer labs' is a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples with more depth and nuance. The position is consistent throughout the essay, which is a strength.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the other hand', 'In my opinion', and 'Furthermore'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear, such as 'first arguments have more weightage' without explicitly linking back to the specific view mentioned earlier. The transition between ideas could be smoother to improve the overall progression of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'renovations', 'heritage', and 'tourist attractions'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'should renovate and keep them' (should be passive: 'should be renovated') and 'full of new technology'. The range is somewhat limited, and you rely on basic phrasing at times. Expanding your range of collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary would improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's flow. Examples include 'In first hand' (should be 'On the one hand'), 'Museum carry painting' (subject-verb agreement), and 'these buildings can be use' (should be 'used'). Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band.
