Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the importance of history and the benefits of modern development, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. For instance, the mention of 'new tactics or styles' by looking at old buildings is vague. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with logical reasoning and concrete illustrations. The position is consistent throughout, but the overall development remains at a basic level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the contrary', 'On the other hand', and 'For example' to link sentences. However, the flow between some sentences is slightly mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'Some mass said'). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two views and your own opinion. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the transition between ideas is smoother and less repetitive.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is often repetitive and lacks precision. Phrases like 'mass proportion of individuals' and 'ancient things' are slightly unnatural in this context. There are also some word choice errors, such as 'reserved' instead of 'preserved' and 'valueable' (spelling error). You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'traditional', 'ancestors', and 'modern development', but the range is limited. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise collocations and avoid repeating the same basic descriptors throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Some mass said', 'these building should be changed') and article usage ('the footprints of past', 'visit on these places'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that articles and prepositions are used correctly in your sentences.
