Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is a debateable issue, whether the old monuments should be restored or construct the new building on its place. I personally believe that maintenance should be instead of making new infrastructure, it will keep the people attached with the time in which the buildings were made originally. This essay will explain both views before concluding on my perspective.
To Begin with, it should be mandatory to keep the old things the way they were in actual time. This will let people to live in retro period. Moreover, preservation of historical structures also depicts that what quality, how much time period it took place to build that. This will became an example for builders and constructures to use the good material which runs life long. For example, one of the seven wonders of the world is Taj Mahal in Agra, India. Instead of keeping it in well shape as it was, if the government decides to build a new one. It will change the history and the new one will be considered as wonder of the world. Because, it has some historical significance as well. So, Government to preserve the Vintage properties rather than replacing these.
On the other hand, there is a segment of society who would suggest to construct the brand new infrastructures as maintaining old ones are too costly to preserve. Therefore, to reduce the economic budget it is suggested to demolish the hereditary properties. Furthermore, restoring needs more people and plenty of time, this hinders the daily activities and creates disturbance. Due to this, visitors and regular workers have to face considerable problems which not only affect their outcome in professional life ( for the people who are working there), but also raises the noise and air pollution which results in health issues.
To conclude, although it costs too much to preserve the history in the form of buildings, but it is necessary to keep the old preservations for future generations. This is the only way to keep the history live.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument for preservation is supported by the example of the Taj Mahal, but the explanation is slightly repetitive. The counter-argument regarding cost and disruption is relevant but could be more deeply explored. While the task is fully addressed, the supporting points lack the depth required for a higher band, as some arguments are stated rather than fully extended.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'This will became an example' or the fragmented sentence structure in the second paragraph. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved to create a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common items like 'infrastructure', 'preservation', and 'hereditary properties', though some word choices are imprecise or non-standard, such as 'constructures' (instead of 'constructors') and 'keep the old things the way they were in actual time'. Spelling errors like 'debateable' and 'constructures' occur, but they do not impede overall communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('maintenance should be instead of making', 'this will became'), article misuse, and awkward phrasing ('it will keep the people attached with the time'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding the intended meaning. To improve, the student should focus on verb tense consistency and sentence construction accuracy.
