Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the arguments. While the ideas regarding tourism and urban development are relevant, they are not fully developed due to the brevity of the response. The conclusion is also quite abrupt. To improve, you should expand on your examples and provide more detailed explanations for your reasoning to ensure the task is fully addressed within the required length.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Additionally', and 'On the other side'. However, the transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical, and the overall flow is hindered by the lack of development. The referencing is generally clear, but the paragraphing could be more balanced to ensure a smoother transition between the two viewpoints and your own opinion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'contemporary', 'heritage sites', and 'advantageous'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and non-standard phrasing, such as 'Morden infrastructure is the considerable subject to debate' and 'some netzines take a stand'. Spelling errors like 'beleve' and 'Histrical' also occur. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure your spelling is accurate throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'historical buildings... should be maintain with renovation' should be 'maintained', and 'such historical attracts foreign' is grammatically incorrect. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic verb forms and sentence construction.
