There has been an ongoing debate about whether the government should spend significant funds on restoring old buildings, such as art galleries and town halls, or demolish them and replace them with modern ones. This essay will discuss both viewpoints and opinions with relevant explanations.

On the one hand, old buildings bring several benefits to society. The foremost one is that it preserves the pride of the nation by maintaining history and cultural to the residents. moreover, if government spend money on them to restoring, many tourists can visit that place more , increasing more job opportunities for local residents, and helps to reduce un-employment. it allows to boost the economy. for instance, by restoring many old architectures allow earn large proportion of the revenue for the city.

on the other hand , some people believe that government should replace them into modern buildings. Nowadays, many people, especially youngster loves to visit modern building because of its new designed architecture , losing the interest in traditional buildings. furthermore, it helps to attract many international company to invest business in that building. for instance, tall building like burj khalifa is very famous for its unique design. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both viewpoints and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding economic benefits is repetitive, and the explanation of why modern buildings attract international companies is underdeveloped. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The conclusion attempts to synthesize the views, but the reasoning remains superficial. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure that your examples are more relevant and clearly linked to the main argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On the one hand' and 'furthermore', to link your points. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the transition 'moreover, if government spend money on them to restoring'. Additionally, there are issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion, which occasionally makes the flow feel disjointed. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'maintaining history and cultural to the residents' and 'it allows to boost the economy'. You also rely on some repetitive phrasing. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'architecture' and 'revenue', the overall control is inconsistent. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and expanding your range of academic vocabulary to express your ideas more precisely and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('if government spend', 'old building has'), incorrect verb forms ('to restoring', 'might loss'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences lacking proper capitalization or containing unnecessary spaces before commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors limits the score. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb tenses and pluralization, to ensure your writing is more polished.
