Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's fast-paced society, individuals hold diverse opinions on a wide range of topics. Regarding the issue the old building should be restored, opinions are divided with, some supporting it while others oppose it as they believe that authorities should be focus on building new building. In my view, it is important to critically analyze both sides of the argument before forming a well-rounded opinion.
On the one hand, people who are in favor of restoring monuments say that it leads to the allure of tourism. To elaborate it, the public can have the urge to experience the old- fashioned materialistic things such as clothes , jewellery and other tools. For instance, Virasat-e Khalsa in Punjab is an old style building which attracts many tourists every month. Therefore, a great profit can be made Apart from it, people can get information about their history and get tied with their roots by having visit in these places.
On the other hand, supporters of replacing ancient building think that it is vital to stay up-to-date with these contemporary world. The new buildings are built in the way that require modern amenities such as air-conditioning and heat system. These building are establish in even limited space which is positive point.
In conclusion, although the ancient monuments are crucial and have lots of benefits. In my opinion, accommodating people in modern houses with well-build style is necessary, but by providing educating them regarding history by having visit to old museums.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, though the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The essay falls slightly short of the 250-word minimum, which impacts the depth of the arguments. While you mention tourism and historical connection for restoration, and modern amenities for replacement, these points are not fully extended. The conclusion is a bit fragmented and does not clearly synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, ensure each body paragraph has a clear topic sentence and a more detailed explanation or example to reach the word count and demonstrate a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To elaborate it' or 'Apart from it'. The logical progression between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors, making the flow feel disjointed at times. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'conversely') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother narrative flow throughout the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are some awkward collocations, such as 'materialistic things' to describe historical artifacts and 'heat system' instead of 'heating systems'. Some phrasing is repetitive, and the word choice is often quite basic. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to architecture, urban planning, and heritage preservation, and work on using words in their correct context to express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'authorities should be focus on building new building' (should be 'focus on new buildings') and 'These building are establish' (should be 'These buildings are established'). Subject-verb agreement and pluralization issues are common throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically ensuring that verbs and nouns agree and that sentence structures are complete and correctly punctuated.
