Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people nowadays believes that despite of how costly restoration of old architecture like town halls and galleries is, higher authorities still should repair them. However, there are group of individuals who believe that old building should be replaced with new and modern buildings. I am in favour of restoring the architecture as it's government's responsibility to preserve the culture. i will discuss both views and my opinion in the following passages.
Government should restore the art galleries and other old buildings even though it is expensive. Because by making the buildings magnificently beautiful not only they can preserve the culture but also can foster the countries tourism. Moreover, the designs in past were expensive and rare and architectures used to design wall themselves. However, now in this modern day and age everything is prepared by using machines which is extremely common.
Although, Modern buildings are the more cheaper option because of wide array of machines which make things much more easier and faster. Furthermore, if authorities will rebuilt the art galleries and town halls they can add updated and new data in it as well . Along with this, They can make the designs more appealing to the youth and younger generations which will make kids visit the historical places and learn there values and beliefs in better ways.
In Conclusion, Although there are many reasons why government should make new buildings. However, i still reckon that restoring the buildings is still more valuable view.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the essay falls slightly short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the arguments regarding cultural preservation and tourism are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped. The explanation of why modern buildings might be preferred is also quite brief. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure each paragraph provides a more thorough justification for the points raised. The position is clear, but the lack of sufficient length prevents a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'In Conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as starting a sentence with 'Although' followed by a comma and then another 'However' in the final paragraph, which creates a repetitive and awkward structure. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transitions between sentences could be more fluid to improve the overall flow of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'magnificently', 'architecture', and 'preserve'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'the more cheaper option' (a double comparative) and 'add updated and new data in it'. Additionally, there are minor errors in word form, such as 'architectures' used to refer to the people who design buildings (architects). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise vocabulary and ensuring that collocations are natural and grammatically correct.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people nowadays believes'), incorrect preposition usage ('despite of'), and punctuation errors, such as the inconsistent capitalization of 'i'. There are also issues with sentence fragments and run-on sentences. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic grammatical rules, particularly regarding articles and verb forms.
