On the one hand, some people believe that old buildings such as town halls and art galleries, because these art galleries and town halls are huge source of knowledge about life style and talent of ancient people. Restoration of old buildings helps to secure evidences of history. This restoration will help our next generation to know about what their ancestors have faced in their life. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly limits the depth of the arguments. While the ideas regarding historical preservation and economic utility are relevant, they are under-developed. The introduction is somewhat fragmented, and the conclusion is entirely missing, which prevents a full development of the position. To improve, you must expand on your points with more specific examples and ensure you provide a clear, well-supported conclusion that synthesizes your arguments. The current length constraint prevents a higher score as the task is only partially addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay uses basic paragraphing to separate the two viewpoints, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'this will helps in to grow'. The transition between ideas is often abrupt, and the lack of a concluding paragraph leaves the essay feeling incomplete. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'nonetheless') to connect sentences more fluidly. Additionally, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your ideas progress logically from one to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'old buildings' and 'help', which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'source of getting knowledge' instead of 'source of historical knowledge' and 'save money of national funds'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition. Focus on learning how to use words in their correct context rather than relying on simple, high-frequency vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'now days they are getting old and needs proper renovation' (subject-verb agreement) and 'this will helps in to grow' (incorrect verb form). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments like 'Should be restored'. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions. You should also practice constructing complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions (e.g., 'although', 'whereas') to demonstrate better control over your grammatical range.
