Student answer (Band 5.0)

Individuals arguing about the historical skyscrapers maintenance. One group of public thinking these town halls or art galleries should store new things, while other group debating for reconstruction of these vintage properties. However, I will talk on these both topics in the upcoming paragraphs.

In the favour of some people, believing in restoration of more things in the heritage places such as museums, so many reasons are there. First of all, nobody knows all the history. There are so many things that are discovering until today. If these things coming in the art in the historical houses, it will more knowledgeable for the public and it helps to know more about past times. Secondly, in this developing era, there are more arts introducing in the world. If government brings these new arts in the city halls it will be beneficial for the individuals as well. They will get new ideas about the new arts in the world.

As a mind of other humans, government should focus extra on the infrastructure of the old buildings. If these places have a new modern look it will attract people more to visit. Which can helps to grow the economy of the country as more people buy tickets to explore such attractive places. Furthermore, As most of these properties hold a vast amount of history knowledge, it will be more safe to keep it for long term.

To conclude this thoughts, Although putting new things at the town halls or art galleries is not a bad idea but I personally believe that safe and secure place to keep these talents should be more focusable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding 'restoration' and 'modernization' are somewhat vague and repetitive. For instance, the point about 'new arts' being introduced in city halls is not clearly linked to the prompt's focus on building restoration versus replacement. The position is stated in the conclusion, but it lacks clarity and depth. To improve, you should provide more specific, logical reasons for your stance and ensure that each paragraph directly addresses the prompt's core tension between preservation and modernization.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often hindered by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. While cohesive devices like 'First of all' and 'Furthermore' are used, they sometimes feel mechanical or are used incorrectly, such as 'As a mind of other humans' to introduce a new viewpoint. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'historical skyscrapers maintenance' and 'store new things' (likely meaning 'house new exhibits'). The phrase 'As a mind of other humans' is unnatural. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to express complex ideas accurately. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning collocations and using more precise terminology related to architecture and urban development, such as 'heritage preservation,' 'modern infrastructure,' or 'cost-effective renovation.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'There are so many things that are discovering'), sentence fragments, and incorrect verb tenses. Many sentences are simple or contain structural errors that make them difficult to parse. For example, 'If these things coming in the art in the historical houses, it will more knowledgeable' is grammatically incorrect. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using correct verb forms before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
