Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is argued by many people that the ancient buildings should be repaired , others the while others think that it myt will expensive a will cost a fortune. I believe that money should be spent on constructing new buildings. I believe that the old buildings should be reestablised to preserve historical and cultural values.

On the one hand, public authorities should preserve the ancient premises even if it costs a fortune because of cultural and historical heritage. To explicate, Maharaja ranjit singh who was the king of punjab has a fort in Lahore, Pakistan which holds the roy describes the less royality of punjab back in those days. Whoever visit the fort, comes to know about the richness of punjab's culture. Gold Jewellery of queen weapons of Diversity of weapons describes the braverly and strength held by the faughter Therefore, historical heritage is cannot be compared with mode is more importent that Than modern buildings. Futhermore, these ancient old buildings can be a medium of to be the become the reason of tourist attraction from which government could be able to earn a lot of money. Consequently, old premises gives benefit to government for by showing culturaland values and as well as helps them to earn money.

On the other hand, the ancient building, like town halls and art galleries should be replaced by with modern building because it can be the a home for millions of people. For example, the country like India is heavily populated but have a very less area. Not only the housing is congusted, but also some people are homeless. If government spend a huge amount of money to give those people to make new building, it can give a home to many people. Thus, the mo new building can save make the life better for many indians.

Despite having some benefits of constructing a new building, I believe that preserving old building can be more beneficial.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the position is slightly contradictory; the introduction states a preference for new buildings, but the conclusion and the body paragraphs argue strongly in favor of preservation. The ideas are relevant, such as the cultural value of historical sites and the need for housing in overpopulated areas, but the development is sometimes hindered by unclear phrasing. For instance, the example regarding the fort in Lahore is a good attempt at support, but the explanation is fragmented and lacks clarity. To improve, ensure that your stated position remains consistent throughout the essay and that your supporting examples are explained in complete, coherent sentences.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Consequently.' However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'to be the become' or 'for by showing.' Additionally, some sentences lack logical flow, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed at times. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede understanding. Examples include 'reestablised' instead of 'restored,' 'less royality' instead of 'royal heritage,' and 'faughter' which is unclear. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'tourist attraction' and 'historical heritage,' but the lack of precision in word formation and spelling limits the score. To reach a higher band, focus on learning the correct collocations for common phrases and proofreading for spelling errors, particularly with more complex academic vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('old premises gives benefit'), incorrect verb forms ('is cannot be compared'), and awkward sentence construction ('the country like India is heavily populated but have a very less area'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and misused commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence structure prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence boundary control and basic subject-verb agreement will help improve your accuracy.
