Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is considered by some individuals that old buildings such as town halls and art galleries should be restored, whereas it can be costly. However, other people argues that authorities should replace them with new buildings. As per my perspective, I vote for earlier notion since it consist more advantages than the second one.
On the one hand, there are a number of potentials for individuals and the authorities by preserving and restoring ancient buildings. Firstly, in every nation those old buildings have some contribution in the history of their country. Thus, by visiting those town halls and art galleries young generation have a opportunity to be awared about their culture and history of their religion . Moreover, economy of that particular country is also increase by becoming tourism place and that will helpful to improve job opportunities among local people. For example, according to the research of India's finance department places like Taj Mahal, lal Killa and many more help to raise 1.5% GDP of by act as a tourism place and those also helpful to develop their local market.
On the other hand, there are several reasons why people think government should replace these buildings with new ones. The primary one is over population. To explicate it , countries like India & Pakistan 5% of total population are homeless. So , by constructing new accomodation like apartments , town houses help people to get shelter . Furthermore , the process of restoring old style buildings is very expensive and it also act as a burden on the funding of governor .
In conclusion, although by replacing those old buildings with new ones pressure on goverment's funding is reduced ,I would like to opine my opinion in favour of earlier statement as by restoring it provide numerous benefits like boost in economy, job opportunities and help to aware young generations about their culture and history .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The position is maintained throughout the essay. Ideas are generally relevant, such as the economic benefits of tourism and the social need for housing. However, some arguments are slightly under-developed; for instance, the link between restoring buildings and 'religion' is unclear, and the argument regarding homelessness could be more tightly connected to the specific context of replacing historical buildings versus building on new land. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there is some mechanical use of these devices, and occasionally the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'I vote for earlier notion'. Referencing is generally clear, but the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother to achieve a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common items like 'explicate' and 'accommodation', though some word choices are imprecise or non-idiomatic, such as 'potentials for individuals' (should be 'benefits') and 'awared' (should be 'aware'). Collocations are occasionally weak, for example, 'funding of governor' instead of 'government funding'. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, the errors in word choice and form prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('other people argues', 'it consist') and article usage ('the economy of that particular country', 'by act as'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some issues with spacing and comma placement. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and pluralization.
