Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent times, heritage building has becoming more problematic in some nations. Few individuals think that old constructions, for example town halls and museums should be reintroduce, even though it can be expensive. While other claim that authority should covert them into new smart buildings.
Firstly, there are several advantages for getting back ancient halls and buildings. For instance, if a city has heritage construction in their town, there will be high chance for tourism, in order to improve their own economy and local civilians get employment. Secondly, City becomes more popular and get known among the county. City can get their own image by having historical landmarks, their own local public and young generation can come to know the actual reality of their history.
However, there are couple of individuals who are against that and they believe that ministry should change them with new high rise buildings. World has becoming more advance nowadays, so that every person wants to improve their city's constructions. It has a positive impact that city can grow rapidly, so that more and more people from different part of country can come and get a work here. Moreover, Once it becomes high modern society, international companies also invest their money in the city such as, in India there is a city called Mumbai, the city has lot of IT companies in their town.
In summary, every topic has their own pros and cons. A city with heritage building can be popular and generate employment as well. On the other hand, If city have newly constructed buildings and towers, it can grow nationally with high tech companies. In my opinion, authorities should invest some money to build new buildings so that it will be benefit for upcoming generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for modern buildings relies on a general claim about 'high-tech companies' without fully explaining why this necessitates the destruction of heritage sites. While the task is addressed, the ideas are often presented in a list-like fashion rather than being fully extended with deep analysis. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments could benefit from more specific reasoning to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'However', and 'In summary' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'World has becoming more advance nowadays'. Additionally, there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the overall progression of ideas lacks the sophistication required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'heritage building has becoming more problematic' (should be 'the preservation of heritage buildings is becoming more challenging') and 'authority should covert them' (should be 'authorities should convert them'). While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the student struggles with more complex or academic terminology, relying on simpler, repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('World has becoming'), article usage ('in their town'), and tense inconsistencies ('City becomes more popular'). While the reader can understand the intended meaning, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to proofreading for verb forms and pluralization would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
