Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people thinks that, old buildings, such as art galleries and town halls should be restored by Government. Nonetheless, many says that it should be replaced by new, modern buildings. In this upcoming paragraphs I will discuss both perspectives and will give my opinion in the end .
To Begin with, There are so many old buildings available in each and every corners of the Earth. Every city have their own public libraries, art galleries, town halls and many more, they are priceless and valuable, as it provides a good amount of knowledge to us regarding history. One can learn various good thing from the books of public library, as well ass, get a nice insight while seeing a beautiful picture of art gallery. For an example, Times Of India- one of the renown newspapers' of India, took the survey on 2024 about Taj-mahal (one of the old buildings), people who visited there, have a more knowledge than who just read about it.
On contrary, Many believes that old buildings should be replace with new modern buildings. In this 21st century humans are following more modernization. They want everything new and fascinating. There are so many huge apartments made up by individuals in last 15 years, which are good. These buildings have all kind of amenities for people to live in it like; Gym, park, swimming pools and game zone as well. For an instance, Toronto Roger Centre- a mammoth building of that city, has all facilities for one who want to live it it. therefor, they do not need to go out for anything. Everything is provided from that apartment.
To conclude, I believe that, making a new modern buildings are good Idea, however to replaced it with the old valuable property is idiotic thinking. We can learn about the history of that place. thus, In my point of view we need to restore old buildings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding the Taj Mahal is not entirely relevant to the prompt about town halls and galleries, and the example of the Toronto Rogers Centre is confusing as it is a stadium, not a residential apartment building. While the position is consistent, the supporting arguments lack depth and logical connection to the specific types of buildings mentioned in the prompt. To improve, ensure that examples directly support the specific context of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'On contrary' (should be 'On the contrary') and 'therefor' (spelled incorrectly). The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. While the overall progression is logical, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the presence of minor errors in cohesion prevent a higher score. Improving the variety and accuracy of transition signals would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word-choice errors, such as 'good thing' instead of 'valuable insights' and 'idiotic thinking' which is too informal for an academic essay. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'ass' instead of 'as' and 'renown' instead of 'renowned'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the range is limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the content.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'Some people thinks' and 'Every city have'. Punctuation is also problematic, with unnecessary commas used frequently (e.g., 'thinks that, old buildings, such as'). There are also errors in article usage and prepositional phrases. While the meaning is generally clear despite these errors, the frequency of mistakes in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score. More attention to proofreading for basic agreement and punctuation is needed.
