Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides a clear opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the development of ideas. The arguments provided, such as the safety of new buildings versus the tourism value of old ones, are relevant but remain underdeveloped. The conclusion contradicts the body paragraphs slightly by suggesting new buildings increase tourism, whereas the first body paragraph argued that old monuments enhance tourism. The failure to meet the length requirement negatively impacts the overall task response score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often repetitive or mechanical (e.g., 'Tourist will not only... but also'). There are instances where the progression of ideas is unclear, particularly in the transition between the benefits of tourism and the safety concerns of old buildings. Referencing is sometimes imprecise, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors, making the text feel somewhat disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. Basic words are used throughout, such as 'good rocks and stuff' and 'new building', which lack the precision required for a higher band. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'conculsion', 'whi9ch', 'peeple') and word choice issues (e.g., 'cost high' instead of 'expensive', 'climbing from' instead of 'climbing on'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility needed for a score above 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are frequently marred by grammatical errors, such as 'As the older monuments, because weak and can have the fear of fell down'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. Punctuation is also problematic, with several run-on sentences and missing commas. These frequent errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the intended meaning.
