Student answer (Band 5.0)
most of people are believing that the old building should be restored, despite it is expensive. But some people believe that should be replace with modern building. In this essay i would like to discuss both and will give my point of view in next paragraph.
Firstly, the old building gives ancient look and precious for our generation due to traditional dowry. Also it have unique structure will take more impressive from the tourists and locals. As example, the taj mahal. it is a beautiful and memorable building which was symbol of love.
In the other hand the old building will be replace with the modern structures building may expensive rather than renovation. Due to globalization and high cost of living in the county, the money wasting for unnecessary thing won't be great idea for this. But also some positive thing for the society due to more job vacancies will available and new looks will be appeared.
I personally believe that the renovation would be better option rather than replace with new building, not only money also it break the unique view of city and overall county.
In conclusion, despite the good things to replaced new building for the old, the restored would be time saving, money and conveniences for the people who are live in society. It makes the people life healthy and prosperous.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, but the development of ideas is limited. The essay is under the 250-word minimum, which significantly impacts the depth of the argument. While you mention the Taj Mahal as an example, the explanation of why restoration is preferable is somewhat superficial. The arguments regarding the cost of modern buildings and job creation are present but lack sufficient elaboration to fully satisfy the requirements of a Band 6 or higher. To improve, ensure you expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and ensure you meet the minimum word count to allow for full development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In the other hand' instead of 'On the other hand'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the logical progression is hindered by the brevity of the paragraphs. While there is a basic attempt at paragraphing, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of some sentences make the flow feel disjointed. Improving the variety of transition signals will help improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The range of vocabulary is limited and sometimes inaccurate. For example, you use 'traditional dowry' in a context where it does not fit, and 'money wasting' is not a standard collocation. There are also issues with word forms, such as 'the restored would be time saving', where a noun like 'restoration' is required. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. You should focus on learning collocations and using more precise terminology related to architecture and urban development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'most of people are believing', 'should be replace', and 'people who are live in society'. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors in subject-verb agreement or tense usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of capital letters and sentence boundaries. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of passive voice.
