Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the costs of restoration and the benefits of modern facilities, the arguments remain superficial. For instance, the example of 'bigger TVs' and 'splash pads' is quite simplistic and does not fully explore the cultural or historical significance of preserving old buildings, which is a key aspect of the debate. To improve, ensure that your arguments are more sophisticated and directly address the prompt's implications regarding heritage versus modernization.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand' and 'Consequently' to link sentences. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'Nowadays infrastructure is moving uptrend drastically also we also can observe'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally will help elevate your score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'transfer those with high facilities building' instead of 'replace them with modern facilities' and 'moving uptrend'. You rely on basic descriptors and repetitive phrasing. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to urban planning and architecture, while ensuring that your word choices are contextually appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('will not only required', 'it also will needs') and incorrect pluralization ('various of upgraded building ideas'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and tense usage prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage would be highly beneficial.
