Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many individual say that the ancient building like museums and art galleries should be preserved as these have cultural values but other believe on the idea the government should focus on the modern buildings. I will discuss both the views in upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, old buildings like art galleries and museums are our cultural heritage .To explain this , they will describe the lifestyle of ancient time like how people in past time survive ,how they workship . For example, sites of harappan civilization give the information about the barter system which means they are exchanging goods according to needs. As a result ,individuals got the valuable information which helps in present for daily use.So, government should preserve these to preserve our culture and heritage.
on other hand, some people believe that spending too much money on these building is wasteless. The authority should spend money on the construction of public places like bus stop, public hospitals, and service centres. To express my views according to this, is spending money on public places make the better life for public. For instance, the survey conducted by The hindu reveals that 50% of the population is not taking the perks from the government as public services are too busy they do not have space for more people to use them. So government should spend money on the public services .
In conclusion, government should restored those building which are safe to use and has valuable heritage other wise government should invest money for public services like making roads and hospitals which are very important for public.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the argument for preserving heritage is supported by an example of the Harappan civilization, the argument for modernization relies on a specific survey that feels slightly disconnected from the general topic of 'old buildings.' The position is clear throughout, but the explanation of why public services should take precedence over heritage could be more nuanced. The response meets the requirements of the prompt, but the depth of analysis remains at a basic level, preventing it from reaching the higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand,' 'To explain this,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To express my views according to this, is spending money...' which disrupts the flow. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences are repetitive in structure. The progression of ideas is logical, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'wasteless' (instead of 'wasteful' or 'a waste of money') and 'taking the perks' (instead of 'benefiting from'). The student uses basic vocabulary to describe complex concepts, such as 'valuable information' and 'better life.' While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or precise lexical items limits the score. Spelling is mostly accurate, but the range of vocabulary is restricted to common, everyday language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the ancient building', 'the barter system'), subject-verb agreement ('Many individual say'), and punctuation. Some sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'To express my views according to this, is spending money on public places make the better life for public.' These errors are noticeable and occasionally require the reader to re-read to grasp the intended meaning. While the student attempts complex structures, the control over them is inconsistent, leading to a significant number of errors.
