Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the first body paragraph provides relevant examples like the Taj Mahal, the second paragraph relies on a questionable claim regarding Germany's economic history to support the argument for modernization. The conclusion is incomplete, as it cuts off mid-sentence, which prevents a full summary of the position. To reach a higher band, ensure that all arguments are fully developed with logical, accurate supporting evidence and that the essay is brought to a complete, coherent conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'However', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In upcoming paragraph, we will put light on both side of coin'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. The abrupt ending of the final paragraph significantly impacts the overall coherence of the piece. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words will help the progression of ideas feel more logical and fluid.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'higher power of nation' instead of 'government' or 'authorities', and 'old items' instead of 'historic structures'. Some collocations are unnatural, such as 'put light on both side of coin'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is a reliance on basic terms. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to architecture and urban development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('others says'), article usage ('the culture of an place'), and sentence fragments or run-on sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with frequent misuse of capital letters and periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, before attempting more complex structures.
