Student answer (Band 5.0)
In contamprorary society, many individuals accept that the buildings that has structured several years ago. Which includes town halls and art galleries due to the fact they are high on costs. While, some people said governments should replace those old buildings with new and modern stuctures. Let's discuss both views.
The main reason for this discussion is that old buildings have cultural and traditional values. Several years ago, when some famous artists display their talent in front on entire world, they just hanged them in art galleries. However, their entry charge is expensive. Low budget income people couldn't afford to visit these places. Furthermore, town halls have several different environments like historical equipments which is quite expensive. As they hold memories in it. For instance, in Pakistan, PAF museum which is absolute historical place. Many individuals visit there along with their families. They taught their children how people survived and how they achieved their goals. As it's an oldest building, it has a chance that they fall any time when there is minor earthquake.
On the other hand, if an old buildings got cracked there would be an extremely great loss of Pakistan. So government should take notice of that. And replace them with new modern buildings. However, old buildings hold cultural values aspects of their generations.
In conclusion, replacement is not a better way. We should lower the expense so many individuals may attend their tradition as well as educates their children with old equipments. Build new buildings for different purposes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, though the development of ideas is inconsistent. The argument regarding cultural value is relevant, but the transition to the safety concerns of old buildings is abrupt and lacks logical depth. The position is somewhat clear, but the conclusion is contradictory, suggesting that replacement is not the way forward while simultaneously suggesting that new buildings should be built for different purposes. The ideas are often under-developed, and the connection between the examples (such as the PAF museum) and the broader argument about restoration versus replacement is not fully articulated, limiting the overall impact of the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is frequently interrupted by disjointed sentences. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as the awkward transition 'While, some people said...' and the fragmented sentence structure in the introduction. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between historical equipment and the safety of the building is not well-connected. The paragraphing is present, but the internal flow of ideas within paragraphs lacks the necessary coherence to guide the reader effectively through the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise, which occasionally impedes communication. There are several spelling errors, such as 'contamprorary' and 'stuctures', and word choice issues, such as 'hanged them' instead of 'displayed them' and 'historical equipments' (equipment is uncountable). The range of vocabulary is basic, and there is little evidence of an attempt to use less common or more sophisticated lexical items. The repetition of simple words and the misuse of collocations suggest that the student struggles to express complex ideas with the necessary precision required for higher band scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. There are significant issues with sentence structure, such as sentence fragments ('Which includes town halls and art galleries...') and subject-verb agreement errors ('the buildings that has structured', 'old buildings got cracked'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many sentences ending prematurely or being joined incorrectly. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. The majority of the sentences contain errors, which places the response firmly in the lower band range for grammatical accuracy.
