Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary era, attractive places play a vital role in everyone's life. It is believed by few individual that old buildings such as town halls and art galleries should be restored because these are very costly, while others think that higher authorities should convert these buildings into modern buildings. H ere I would like to shed some light on the both view points along with my own opinion in the upcmomg paragraph.
On the one hand, there are many reason why some people give importance to old buildings and towns. The first and foremost reason is, connect with culture. To be more clear, it is commonly seen that old buildings such as town halls, museum are build on the bases of some remarkable people due to this when people come to visit these places they learn about their sacrifice which they did during war time to make a bright future for the upcoming generation. For example- if I talk about Taj mahal which is buid in agra that was made my shah jahan in the memory of his named Mumtaj mahal which shows the symbol of love for each other forever due to this more and more love to visit this place and cick a lot of photos over their and learn about their love . Hence, it connect people with their culture.
On the other hand, some people think that government should replace these building into modern ones. Firstly, young generation love to watch new places as compare to older ones. To explain it more, in this modern world, children love to expore new places with their friends where they can enjoy with their freinds while cocking photos, make their memories remarable. hence, it is good idea to mske new places.
in my opinion, old building should be restored because it teach modern generation about their ancestors, musical instructs and many more

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is uneven. The first body paragraph provides a relevant example (the Taj Mahal), but the explanation is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. The second body paragraph is significantly underdeveloped, relying on a simplistic argument about young people wanting to 'explore new places' without addressing the core issue of modernizing versus preserving infrastructure. The conclusion is also very brief and introduces new, irrelevant information ('musical instructs') that was not mentioned previously. To improve, you should ensure each argument is fully explained with logical reasoning and that your conclusion strictly summarizes the points already discussed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Firstly'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression is hindered by the lack of depth in the arguments. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the transition to the conclusion feels abrupt. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word-choice errors, such as 'higher authorities should convert these buildings into modern buildings' and 'cocking photos'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'upcmomg', 'buid', and 'mske'. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range of vocabulary and the frequent errors in word formation and spelling prevent a higher score. Expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific collocations related to architecture and urban development would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'It is believed by few individual that...' and '...if I talk about Taj mahal which is buid in agra that was made my shah jahan'. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, article usage, and punctuation (e.g., 'For example- if I talk...'). These errors occur throughout the text and occasionally cause the reader to pause. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb tenses.
