Student answer (Band 6.0)
The community is debating on reviving the old art galleries and town halls that have there doors closed for over a decade, while the counterpart, The government, has proposed the demolision of these structures and replacing them with modern and classic new architectures. Let's discuss both opinions that were tabled during a meeting that was held at an open forum.
Firstly, the ancestral group discussed that town halls and art galleries should be restored because they serve the communities art of heritage and offer a historical knowledge ground to learn how our ancestors incorportated these structures with their daily lives. Such as, my grand parents used the are galleries to display their unique and classy artwork for the publc to buy them. Likewise, the town halls included a public library that every person could visit and use the facility.
On the other hand, The government has tabled to the parliament that these structures should be demolished and replaced with new mordern buildings. While the handout that the government provided, it clearly shows that neither a new art gally nor a public library will be included which is a great concern of our cultural values. On the documentation, building such as a modern hotel is shown that claim to increase more attaction and revenue that will benefit the community. Another offering by the government is the building of a high-tech community center that will have a play ground for children.
In my opinion, the government has the legal authority to offer and replace buildings that seem advantageous to the community, however, they should also consider the opinions that a national heritage will be destroyed, and the community will lose it's cultural values in the generations to come. Having said that, I support my opinion with the community that we should revive that old buildings and honor the descendent of our culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the arguments for restoration are supported by personal examples, the discussion of the government's perspective relies on a hypothetical 'handout' and 'documentation,' which feels slightly detached from a general essay task. The position is consistent, but the explanation of why heritage should be prioritized over modern development could be more deeply explored to reach a higher band. The response covers all requirements of the prompt effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In my opinion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'the counterpart, The government,' which is awkward. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, though there are several spelling errors ('demolision', 'gally', 'attaction', 'descendent') and word choice issues ('ancestral group' is an unusual collocation for people advocating for heritage). While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'heritage,' 'revenue,' and 'legal authority,' the inaccuracies in spelling and collocation occasionally distract the reader. A wider range of precise vocabulary would be needed to move into the higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'debating on reviving' (should be 'debating whether to revive'), 'there doors' (should be 'their'), and 'it's cultural values' (should be 'its'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with capitalization and article usage. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching the 7.0 band for grammar.
