Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people think that ancient buildings such as town halls and art galleries, need to be stored, no matter how expensive it is to preserve them. While, other believes that authorities have to replace them with the new and modern buildings. I certainly agree with the former viewpoint that, old sites should be preserved as it is presents country's heritage.
People who believe that old buildings should be preserved has these reasons. First of all, these old historic buildings representing the country's heritage. Many art gallaries in the museum, famous town halls in the cities are the best example to make that place more valuable and it shows nations histoy. Moreover, new generations are learnig from this museum and passing its cultural importance and past history so it is worth to spend some money on restoring them. For example, in ahmedabad red fort is become famous location and people usually come to explore and enjoy.
On the other hand, the government need to spend money on replacing these old buildings with the modern ones. The main reason is that, people are changing their perspective and their interests as passing the time. Moreover, it is human's tendency to get attract with new things. As a result, tourists will help to boost economy of the nations .For instance, in delhi old buildings renovated with the new construction and in the few days visitors broke the record after visiting it.
To conclude, although new and modern buildings are attracting visitors and help economy, I support the former viewpoint that governments should spend money on ancient buildings as it is preseving the country's heritage.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The position is consistent throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the economic benefits of modern buildings is a bit superficial, and the examples provided (such as the Red Fort in Ahmedabad) are slightly confusing or factually imprecise in context. To reach a higher band, you should aim to extend your supporting points with more detailed explanations and ensure that your examples are clearly linked to the arguments presented.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand', which help to guide the reader. However, some of the transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed. Referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression within paragraphs could be strengthened by ensuring each sentence builds more effectively on the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. There are some attempts at using topic-specific vocabulary like 'heritage', 'restoring', and 'modern construction'. However, there are several word-choice errors and inaccuracies, such as 'stored' instead of 'restored', 'gallaries' (spelling), and 'get attract with' instead of 'be attracted to'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is usually clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('People who believe... has', 'buildings representing') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some unnecessary commas and missing spaces after punctuation marks. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with greater accuracy.
