Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is undoubtable that historical monuments play crucial role to maintain the history of any country or civilization, and some advocates believe that these buildings ought to be renovated even though the process is considered a cost dear. However, other crises think that the authorities should demolish these buildings and enact modern structure. This essay will discuss both views before reaching on my point of view.

At the outset, the primary reasons behind the renovation of the buildings are staying connecting to roots. The ancient monument keeps a paramount importance to spread the history by generation to generation. As an example, schools and colleges preferred to take trips on historical structures to explain the history behind the location which they are studying in academic years. Thus, if these structures destroy by the government, it will a significant challenge to keep historical records safe for long time.

On the other hand, People think there are a plethora of sources to maintain the knowledge regards older buildings like libraries, online websites. Therefore, individual agree to erect new modern buildings according to the need of hours, one of the reasons is the significant proportion of people love to enjoy other recreational activities instead of visiting old buildings than why law should waste big chunk of money to restore the landmark.

Consequently, both the notion has their own supporting grounds but, in my convention, a balanced approach can be followed to rein on this issue like vital buildings should renewed otherwise, funds can allocate for new buildings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for replacing buildings relies on the availability of digital information, which is a relevant point but lacks depth. The conclusion is present but feels rushed and slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your supporting examples and ensure that your personal opinion is more clearly integrated throughout the essay rather than just appearing in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'At the outset', 'On the other hand', and 'Consequently', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'than why law should waste big chunk of money'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a strong topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your ideas, including terms like 'monuments', 'renovated', 'demolish', and 'plethora'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'cost dear', 'crises' (likely meant 'critics'), 'staying connecting to roots', and 'need of hours'. These errors occasionally impede the precision of your argument. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that the words you choose are used in the correct context, rather than relying on direct translations or slightly misused phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the text. Examples include 'historical monuments play crucial role' (missing article), 'if these structures destroy' (passive voice error), and 'both the notion has' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
