Architectural heritage such as builidngs, monuments provides a deep reflection to the history. Some individuals believe that ancient buildings should be restored despite the cost whereas others believe that government should replace them with new and modern buildings. In my perspective, the old building should be restored and reasons behind this will be listed in the forthcoming fragments with logical conclusion.

To begin with, the old buildings should be recovered because they serve as the sole symbol of our history. They represent the identity of our past which is beautifully depicted in the art galleries. For example, some paintings showcase the struggles of that era which can only be described through art. Hence, they help us to connect with the history. Furthermore, these buildings help us to understand the ancient architecture in more pragmatic way. The carvings on the buildings shows the way by which early architects used to holds nature in their art form. As a result, it help in modern day architectures also.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction. However, the conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence, which prevents a full development of the final position. While the main body paragraphs present relevant ideas, the development is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding 'modern day architectures' could be more explicitly linked to the preservation of old buildings. To reach a higher band, ensure that all parts of the essay, including the conclusion, are fully finished and that arguments are extended with more depth and specific, illustrative examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'However'. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally hindered by the incomplete conclusion. Referencing is generally clear, but some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate for the task, but the abrupt ending negatively impacts the overall flow and coherence of the piece. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring a complete, well-structured conclusion would significantly enhance the cohesion of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'pragmatic' and 'architectural heritage'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'builidngs', 'whcih', 'aesyhetics', and 'illustare', and some awkward collocations like 'holds nature in their art form'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise, academic vocabulary to move into the higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement, such as 'buildings... shows' and 'buildings does not match'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences missing proper structure or containing unnecessary spaces. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring consistent punctuation, while also attempting more varied complex sentence structures to demonstrate greater grammatical control.
