Student answer (Band 6.0)
Spending money on restoration of old buildings have always been a topic of discussion. Some humans believe that government should spent more on restoration of old architecture whereas others believe to spend on building a new one. This essay will discuss both the views followed by my opinion.
On the one hand it is believed by many that the government should spent more on restoration of old buildings such as art galleries and towns because these places holds great importance about the culture and heritage of that city. Moreover it helps in maintaining the legacy of the heritage of city.Furthermore.The old architect tells much about the ancient era which is very important for the upcoming generation to know amd learn about the histroy behind the beautiful city. For example, art galleries contains number of art work such as paintings or sculpture which were created by famous artists. This art work can keep the reputation and love of the artists, awaken in today's generation.
On the other hand people believe that spending money on modern building is worth because the construction of new building can be less costlier rather than reconstruction of the older one.Furthermore a new building can be made and customised according to needs of an individual. For example new construtions can be made within small place with multiple technologies available, making it more reliable and convenient to live.
In conclusion, eventhough spending money on building new structure can be beneficial to many people but in my opinion i personally agree to spend the money on restoration of old buildings to keep the culture and belief awaken

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the points regarding cultural heritage and cost-effectiveness are relevant, they lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. For instance, the mention of 'art galleries' is a good start, but the explanation of how they 'keep the reputation' of artists is vague. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your reasoning with more detailed illustrations or logical consequences of your arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, there are issues with punctuation and sentence structure that affect flow. For example, 'Furthermore. The old architect' contains a fragmented sentence and incorrect punctuation. Additionally, the transition between ideas is sometimes mechanical. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that sentences are correctly punctuated will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You use basic terms like 'spending money' and 'new building' repeatedly. There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'old architect' (referring to the building itself, not the profession) and 'less costlier' (a double comparative). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to urban planning and heritage, such as 'preservation', 'modernization', 'fiscal constraints', or 'architectural integrity'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'restoration of old buildings have' (should be 'has') and 'these places holds' (should be 'hold'). There are also errors with verb forms, such as 'government should spent' (should be 'spend'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, is essential.
