Student answer (Band 6.0)
Heritage of any country tells about the story related to people, culture and norms of the society. The considerable number of people travel around the world just to experience the heritage of different countries. Some people believe that heritage has significant importance while others think it is just a waste of land.
The majority believe that the government should restored the heritage of the country. Old buildings tell us about how our ancestor used to spend their lives. Moreover if the government keep the heritage in good condition such places will also become tourists attraction. Furthermore, heritage helps you connect to your roots and tells you about your culture. Restoring an ancient building may be costly but it is basic need of our society too by which we tell our new generation about our forefathers.
On the other hand, the other group of people believe that restoring the old buildings is just a waste of money. Instead of restoring the government should demolished those and construct new and modern buildings. For instance, residents have been living in a building which was about fifty years old there is a quite possible that the building may not bear the earthquake or someday may fall itself. Thus, instead of waiting for an accident the government should take measure and build new construction there.
In my opinion, the government should take steps to preserve the heritage of the country and take measure before any disaster happen. In this way locals connect with their roots and tourism of the country will also boost. The government must make a committee who has been assign to make rules regarding the heritage in addition keeping the check and balance of restoration. In this way we save our heritage from been destroyed or lost forever.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting both sides of the argument and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the cultural value of heritage versus the safety and modernization concerns. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the safety of old buildings is a good point, but it could have been expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the writer's stance. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more depth and nuance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand', which help connect the arguments. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion, such as in the sentence 'residents have been living in a building which was about fifty years old there is a quite possible', where the connection between clauses is weak. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'heritage', 'ancestor', 'forefathers', and 'restoration'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'government should restored' (should restore) and 'tourism of the country will also boost' (will be boosted). To improve, the writer should focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary to convey ideas with more sophistication and accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'government should restored' (should restore), 'if the government keep' (keeps), 'building may not bear the earthquake' (withstand), and 'committee who has been assign' (assigned). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent communication. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and passive voice constructions, while aiming for a higher frequency of error-free complex sentences.
