Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued by few individuals that old buildings like town halls and art galleries should be renovated , even it will be expensive . wheares other group of masses think that modern buildings should be built instead of spending huge money on restoring the ancient buildings. I will discuss the both sides in forthcoming paragraphs along with my opinion.
To commence with, people who believe that heritage building should be renovated because it will help to the upcoming generation to learn the historical importance of the ancient buildings. Nowadays, juveniles do not prefer to learn about their historical things . however, if their parents will visit to historical place with their children they can stay connected with their heritage. For instance, Taj Mahal which is a historical building in India delhi is being renovated by authorities every year to maintain its beauty for new generation. Thus, it is undeniable that ancient buildings plays a important role to stay connected with our history.
On the other hand side , masses who said that modern architectural designs should be made because of the modern amenities that can be implemented in new buildings such as electricity , modren technology in houses . To elaborate it , as we know that in this modern era everyone is busy in their life for making money . And people who have work regularly they do pot have time time manage their home and work together .So ,thats why they want a place which is fully modern and equipped with new technology.
In conclusion , although historical buildings play avital role for the knowledge for our new coming generation but the modern technology is also important in our daily life .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, though the opinion is not clearly stated in the introduction or conclusion. The ideas are relevant but remain somewhat under-developed. For instance, the argument for modern buildings focuses on 'electricity' and 'modern technology', which is a limited perspective on why modern architecture is preferred. The conclusion is quite brief and does not effectively synthesize the two sides or clearly state your final stance. To improve, ensure your position is clearly articulated in the introduction and consistently supported throughout the body paragraphs with more depth and specific reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'On the other hand side' is a non-standard collocation, and the transition 'So ,thats why' is too informal for an academic essay. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the sudden shift to discussing 'juveniles' and 'parents' in the second paragraph without a strong link to the topic of town halls. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help the flow of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary range is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'other group of masses' and 'historical things'. You also rely on repetitive language, such as using 'modern' multiple times in the third paragraph. There are some spelling errors (e.g., 'wheares', 'modren', 'avital') and punctuation issues, such as spaces before commas. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct spelling and collocation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'ancient buildings plays a important role'), article usage (e.g., 'to the upcoming generation'), and sentence fragments or run-on sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors limits the score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
