Student answer (Band 5.5)

The structure buildings plays an utmost role in our life. Although, there is a infrastructure of modern buildings but Old structures also exist on same point. In this essay, I will discuss both the views.

One one hand, Spending money to renovate or restructured the old buildings such as art museums is wort it. Because they all contains our history, time and what happend in pastwhich is going forward to present. The upcoming generation will also get the chance to get the knowledge and information about these past. To enhance their experience or show our culture this is the best way to. Apart

from that, The prominent reason to save these buildings keep their existence as they had before. I believe that, if they were structured before, would definitely had their culture and connection to bound the then veners win yet valuea. rur mstance , Khalsa college in India, that building was so

old, but they are trying to restructured it not to turn into modern ones just because that college had the public repotaion and hype in past. And still it is maintained

On the flip side, As time passes, Everything is changes by its own way . Some people prefer not to waste money on old buildings such as,its better to invest on new buildings . I beileve that, Some people like to grow and wanted something new around rather than to spend on same structure. For example, If government invest money on new buildings, definitely it will have new features, more facilities, new technology and something unique to visit and experience. In conclusion, I believe that, These both views states their own reason but spending money on old buildings to restore the art galleries and town halls is definitely worth it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention the importance of history and the benefits of modern technology, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. For instance, the example of Khalsa College is relevant but the explanation of why it should be preserved is slightly unclear due to language errors. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph contains a clear topic sentence followed by a detailed explanation and a concrete example that directly supports your main point. The conclusion is present but could be more robust in summarizing the main arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'One one hand' (with a typo) and 'In conclusion' are used, but the transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'They all contains our history... which is going forward to present.' Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents will significantly enhance the logical progression of your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'structure buildings' instead of 'historic buildings' and 'public repotaion and hype'. Some words are used incorrectly, such as 'veners' and 'rur mstance'. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'renovate' and 'invest', the overall control is limited. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations and using more sophisticated vocabulary to express your ideas more accurately and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('they all contains'), incorrect verb forms ('would definitely had'), and punctuation errors. There are also several spelling mistakes that distract the reader. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading your work to correct basic errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, and spelling.
