Student answer (Band 6.0)
A large number of individuals argue that old art galleries and community halls should be re-constructed by the government meanwhile, many believe that it is not a practical approach and those old structutres should be replaced by modern infrastructure. I strongly believe that, renovating the buildings according to recents times is relatively a constructive and practical perspective.
On the one hand, people who like to get attached with their traditions and history say buildings should be restored without losing their ancient and actual appearance. Moreover, it is advocated that being connected to the art work done by their ancestors is worth-watching.This is a expensive way to save the originalty. In that way, original ambiance does not fade away. For example, in my hometown, a community centre is re-structured which significantly depicts early framework of the hall. The paintings, windows, doors and floors are fabricated in a manner that illustrate previous centure.Unfortunately, it is not a reliable development because it could cause some disasters at a time.Old buildings have contruction material which may leave their grip and could cause some hazards.
Secondly , people are convinced that government should rebuilt the buildings to meetthe desires of new generation. Additionally, mostly new generation is not interested to visit old fashioned buildings. Local authorities should create more advanced and fascinated halls by replacing tedious halls and galleries equipped with recent technology. Installation of new lights, ventilation and gaming areas should be introduced along with art projects. For example, in China , art galleries have a separate hall for young painters to draw their favorite painting of the day during their visit. It is the centre of attention for all. This could cost less instead.
To summerize, many people suggest to re-install previous attributes of art galleries and town halls.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument for restoration is supported by an example, but the counter-argument regarding safety hazards is underdeveloped and lacks specific evidence. Similarly, the second body paragraph introduces the benefits of modern buildings but relies on generalisations. While the position is consistent, the depth of analysis could be improved by exploring the social or economic implications of these choices more thoroughly to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organised into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'Secondly', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the abrupt shift from the benefits of restoration to the safety concerns in the first body paragraph. Referencing is generally clear, but the concluding paragraph is very brief and fails to effectively summarise the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'ambiance', 'fabricated', and 'tedious', though some word choices are slightly unnatural or imprecise, such as 're-constructed' instead of 'restored' or 'renovated'. There are also minor spelling errors like 'structutres' and 'centure'. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, more precise collocations and a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary would be needed to achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'a expensive way', 'mostly new generation', and 're-install previous attributes'. Punctuation is occasionally inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the response from reaching the 7.0 band. The writer demonstrates an ability to construct complex sentences, but the control over these structures is not consistent enough to be considered error-free.
