Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 109 words. Because the essay is incomplete, it fails to address all parts of the task. The introduction is present, but the discussion of the second viewpoint is missing, and the conclusion is absent. The ideas presented are underdeveloped and lack the necessary depth to meet the requirements of the prompt. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full response that covers both sides of the argument and includes a clear personal opinion, while meeting the minimum length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the text ends abruptly mid-sentence ('How...'), which prevents the development of a logical flow. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic way, such as 'First of all', but the overall progression of ideas is severely hampered by the lack of a complete argument. To improve, focus on planning your essay into four clear paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs for the opposing views, and a conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and contains some errors in word choice and form. For example, 'ancients artifacts' should be 'ancient artifacts', and 'why it built' is grammatically incorrect. There is also an issue with word choice, such as 'imperative for the government to restore these important structure' (should be plural 'structures'). The range of vocabulary is limited, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas effectively. Try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to architecture and urban development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains several grammatical errors that affect clarity. There are issues with sentence structure, such as the opening sentence which is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. Subject-verb agreement and tense usage are also inconsistent, for example, 'who scarifies their lives' should be 'who sacrificed their lives'. The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your verb tenses are consistent throughout the essay.
