Student answer (Band 6.0)
The essay surrounding the believe that some people wanted to restore the old artchitecture buildings while other believe that it should be replaced with the new one has become interestingly common. This essay will discuss both sides and then, present a conclusive solution.
The old buildings are historically important to us. It represents art, culture and traditions of the country. It has significant importance in everyone's life. It is the pride of the nation. The government should take care of historical buildings and work towards it preservation. We have to preserve such building to show it to our future generations, so that they will know where we came from and what are our values.
On the other hand, urbanization is rapidly increasing in today's world. The population is growing faster. People required more homes and facilities to sustain their lives. Modern building has many advantages and can meet all the necessary reuirements of the people whereas old buildings only occupies the space and cannot meet the demand of the today's world. It can be the hinderance in the developing works.
To conclude, both the buildings has their own importance and values in people's lives. Therefore, balance approach should be taken by the government so that both buildings can be preserved. On one hand, old artchitecture building teaches our history and on the other hand, new buildings is necessary for the development of the nation. Therefore, both are equally important and it is our and government responsibility to work together for the better future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—preserving old buildings versus replacing them with modern ones—and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, noting cultural importance on one side and urbanization on the other. However, the development of these ideas tends to be somewhat repetitive and lacks specific examples, relying on general statements like 'It represents art, culture and traditions.' This places the response comfortably at Band 6, as it successfully engages with all prompt requirements and presents a clear position, though deeper extension with concrete examples would be needed for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a clear overall organization with a four-paragraph structure that separates the introduction, the two body viewpoints, and the conclusion. Logical progression is generally maintained; for instance, the transition from discussing historical preservation to the opposing argument of urbanization is marked by 'On the other hand.' However, cohesion can feel mechanical in places, such as the repetitive use of 'Therefore' and 'On one hand / On the other hand' constructs. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct topics, supporting a solid Band 6 performance.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'urbanization,' 'preservation,' 'sustainable,' and 'hinderance.' However, there are several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'artchitecture,' 'reuirements,' and the awkward phrase 'developing works.' Furthermore, the phrasing in the opening sentence ('The essay surrounding the believe...') contains significant lexical awkwardness. Because these errors do not impede overall communication and the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, a Band 5.5 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional-like meaning and infinitive structures such as 'so that they will know where we came from.' Nevertheless, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are numerous basic errors involving subject-verb agreement and singular/plural forms, such as 'Some people believe... while other believe,' 'old buildings has,' 'new buildings is,' and 'balance approach.' While these errors are frequent enough to prevent a higher score, simple sentences are often controlled, and meaning is rarely obscured, aligning well with Band 5.5 descriptors.
