Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the modern world, some old heritage buildings in it is extremely essential to feel the importance of the old era. I believe that old buildings like town hall as well as art galleries should be restored even thiugh it is costly, but it is great idea to rebuild the old culture. Some believe that old build shoukd be replaced by new buildings. It can help the moderen era.

On the other side, people how think it is great ti restore the old buildings, also have a great point view. They believe many artist want that there work would be acknowleged, so if there is no art gallary where the artist art frames would be placed. Some individual know about the technical stuff like social media but some individiual don't have any idea. so it's good to admire the craft of thr artist.

On the other han, some people believe old vuilding should be replaced by new buildings. fir instance, like concert hall, movie threater, sports club. Which play a vital role in moderen world. This will also increase the economy of the country. In moderen world, emerging technology play a pivotal role. Various company can build to employ a team, to work together as well as play their part in it.

In conclusion, many individual believe that old building should restore to remember the old era that our new generations should know their roots that how their country used to look like but some thought it should replace by new building so that new era can work for their better future. To enhance the new technology era, they would prefer the new building. I would personally believe, the root should be known as well as acknowleged by humans. So, whatever the era would be the old buildings should never be replaced with the new ones.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views regarding the restoration versus replacement of old buildings and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on art galleries mentions that artists want their work acknowledged, but the reasoning remains underdeveloped and contains minor confusions about technical knowledge. While the prompt is generally covered, the arguments lack depth and extended support, fitting the descriptors for Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, discussion of both views, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is disrupted by mechanical and repetitive transitions like 'On the other side', 'On the other han', and 'In conclusion'. Paragraphing is visibly weak, with the second and third body paragraphs awkwardly split and poorly organized. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the mechanical overuse of cohesive devices places this performance firmly in Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and spelling throughout the text, such as 'thiugh' for though, 'moderen' for modern, 'how' for who, 'ti' for to, 'gallary' for gallery, 'thr' for the, 'vuilding' for building, 'threater' for theater, and 'acknowledged'. While the range is minimally adequate to convey basic ideas, the frequent lexical errors and lack of precise vocabulary restrict the score to Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on general communicative intent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many of these attempts are flawed and ungrammatical. Frequent errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('emerging technology play', 'various company can build'), incorrect prepositions, and faulty relative clauses ('people how think', 'artists want that there work would be acknowleged'). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also frequently misused, causing difficulty for the reader and aligning with the Band 4.0/4.5 range.
