Student answer (Band 5.0)

We know that old is gold. In this Era we hard to find old buildings and historics things that represents our culture and past time. So today i would like to write both views and give a best conclusion.

On the first hand, old buildings can be a gdp growth for a country because if a ancient buildings in any country that means ample of immigrants visit and generate income for nation. Moreover, today's world art gives us emotions, culture and express the feelings of an artists.Furthermore, galleries replect the features of the image and how they look and what's the reasons about it. In fact, old things are related to our soldiers, god's and legends how they did efforts and gave their life to fight for upcoming generations. For instance, the golden temple in amritsar india which represent the culture of sikhs and various country citizens visit every year to see and create a massive income for a country.

On the other hand, everyone need changes in their life and in their area where they live. First and foremost, if government should replace to historic to modern buildings it give to people new future updates and also name and fame because if this types of new buildings socialize and circle to each and every corner that means inhabitants see different things which they cannot look before.Last but not least, government keep changing time to time for development for a nation. Although, it would be a ideal for other countries that they do not develop

In conslusion, i agree with both views that old buildings are gold for us and the modern buildings is future for world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt by discussing the arguments for restoring old buildings and the perspective that modern buildings should replace them, while also offering a concluding opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the student mentions that old buildings contribute to GDP growth and attract immigrants, but this point is not fully extended or supported with clear logic. The example of the Golden Temple is relevant, but the reasoning throughout the body paragraphs tends to over-generalize and lacks clear progression. According to the band descriptors, the task is addressed, but the ideas remain under-developed and unclear in places, which places this response comfortably at a band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four distinct paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which shows an attempt at basic organisation. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward referencing and mechanical cohesive devices such as 'On the first hand', 'Moreover', and 'Last but not least'. The flow of ideas is often disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument smoothly. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is weak and repetitive, lacking smooth transitions between sentences. This performance corresponds to a band 5.0 in Coherence and Cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student displays a limited vocabulary with noticeable errors that occasionally impede communication or cause strain for the reader. Phrases like 'historics things', 'gdp growth for a country', and 'replect the features' demonstrate issues with word choice and spelling. While there are attempts to use less common items such as 'immigrants', 'generation', and 'development', frequent inaccuracies in collocation and form prevent the response from achieving a higher band. Vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic concepts related to the topic, aligning with the band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammatical range is quite limited, consisting of a mix of simple sentences and faulty complex structures. There are frequent errors in punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and article usage, such as 'In this Era we hard to find', 'if a ancient buildings', and 'everyone need changes'. Sentences like 'First and foremost, if government should replace to historic to modern buildings it give to people new future updates' contain severe structural errors that obscure the meaning. Due to the high frequency of grammatical mistakes and the lack of error-free sentences, a band 5.0 is awarded for this criterion.
