Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the present scenario, development in each and every area improtant for the progress of nation.Handful of masses opine that historical building as well as exhibitions have to restored althought its expensive. However, rest of denizens argue authorities need to replace it with construction of the new modern buildings. This eassy intends to explain both virepoints with ideology opinion in thr upcoming fragments.

To commence with, while restoring old art galleries and town halls people stay connect with their cultural roots because visiting art exhibitions by people in their lesiure time can provide information about incient time to them and importance of histoty in their life.As a consequence, denizens share that knowledge with new generation and feel proude to be native of some particular countries where freedom fighter died for independence.

Moreover, althought restorement old town halls is more costly but elder people get an area where they can allocate their morning and evening time with their agemates which can reduce their stress, loneliness, and many other health issues because they come out from four walls of house.

On the other side, spending on modern building by goverent also give new look to areas such as construction of flates for masses with advanced features improve the living standard of people along with comfortzone therefore denizens save their own save which they have to spend on modern buildings.Last but not least, people give some amount of money to the authorities in the form of taxes thus people demand their money back with the establishment of modern building specially in the rural areas. Hence, peiple lead to lucrative lifestyle rather than living under imited facilities.

In the conculsion, in the light of the above discussion it right to say that althought reconstruction of ancient buildings more costly but its improtant to save the incient time periods for new generations along with use funds for establishment of modern buildings for people. In my opinion both aew equally imporant for thr overall progress of nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on whether to restore old buildings or replace them with modern ones, and includes the writer's own opinion that both are equally important. The position is clear throughout the essay. Ideas are extended and supported, such as mentioning cultural roots, stress reduction for the elderly, and the economic and living-standard benefits of modern buildings. However, there is a tendency to over-generalize and some arguments are slightly repetitive, which keeps the response at a Band 6 level for this criterion. For instance, the points about elderly people and taxes are relevant but lack finer development. Overall, the task requirements are adequately met.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, separating the introduction, the two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and the conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical due to missing words, poor referencing, and run-on phrasing. Phrases like 'To commence with,' and 'On the other side,' are used to signal transitions, but referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'replace it' where 'it' lacks a clear singular antecedent. Additionally, the flow is disrupted by missing articles and linking verbs. Paragraphing is present and appropriate for a standard essay structure, but the internal cohesion places this text firmly within Band 5.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'denizens,' 'ideology,' 'lucrative lifestyle,' and 'reconstruction,' demonstrating a basic awareness of style. However, there are frequent errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation, including 'impartant' instead of 'important,' 'eassy' instead of 'essay,' 'virepoints' instead of 'viewpoints,' 'incient' instead of 'ancient,' 'restorement' instead of 'restoration,' and 'conculsion' instead of 'conclusion.' These lexical and spelling inaccuracies are noticeable and occasionally cause mild strain for the reader, though they do not completely impede communication. These characteristics align with a Band 5 performance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating subordinating conjunctions like 'while,' 'although,' and 'because.' However, the grammatical control is weak, with frequent errors throughout the text. There are numerous missing auxiliary verbs, articles, and prepositions, such as 'development in each and every area improtant for the progress of nation' and 'spending on modern building by goverent also give new look.' Punctuation is also problematic, leading to run-on sentences like 'Last but not least, people give some amount of money to the authorities in the form of taxes thus people demand their money back...' Frequent errors and faulty complex structures place this at a Band 5 level.
