IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people believe that old buildings, such as town halls and art galleries, should be restored, even though this can be costly. Others argue that governments should replace them with new, modern buildings.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Old buildings are our asset.Art galleries preserve our traditions which is being replaced with modern era .Belief of people that old buildings must be restored is based on their affection and their bond with their grand fathers.
Restoration of old buildings is not only a difficult task and it is very time taking and demanding project not only costly.Government can also earn money by restoring their historic buildings and halls by putting some ticket money for visitors and by publishing the historic events and the background events to persuade people to visit these places .
While some people think very logically . They have their own reasons to support their state ment that old buildings must be moderanized as with time some buildings are not safe for people .They can caused damage to peoples lives.Restoration of old building can caused financial burrden on our government
in my opinion , old builings shoul be renewed with modern touch to keep them safe and strong. The traditions , rituals and life styles of out grand fathers should be preserved.in our locality there is a broken temple and a military camp that was used by british people when they ruled our land. that building is more like a barren land .It is currently being restored by our local givernment to remind out young generation of sacrifices made by our grand fathers and struggles thay did to provide us this safe land . Restoration is a good thing it preserves our culture . It is a source of connection between generations .It provides us motivation to protect out land
