Student answer (Band 5.0)

Few people think that the buiding which is not applicable for use, like town halls and art galleries should be restored, also they know this work is very costly. Someothers ask that the state should change them by making new and more modren buildings. this building is the symbol of culture, language and the way how the people spend life about any nation.

In this essay we will discuss about the buiding which have imortance of their nation. Some people consider that the old building such as town halls and art galleries must be restored because they see the old building with very respect they have very respect for this building because he consider that this building can repersent our country our nation our provinve and our city it is also the one of the biggest reason that they conisder the old buing should be restored even high cost is spend. for instance in my city we have Minar e Pakistan which has so much historical value now some people ask that this building should be restores even it require a big budget.

And the other people say that the old building is replaced with the new building the reason is that this type of people love with modernity he wanted to see there country modren so they think this.

My opnion is that the both type of people is right but i think that the old building which have historical values an the the building which is able to be restored then government must restore this type of buildings, and also make new and modren buildings

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on restoring versus replacing old buildings and presents a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed. For example, the arguments regarding cultural significance are stated simply without deep elaboration, and the example of Minar-e-Pakistan is introduced briefly. The position is evident, but the development lacks depth and extension, preventing the response from reaching a higher band level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay shows some organisation, using basic paragraphing to separate the introduction, body points, and conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression as ideas tend to jump without smooth transitions. Cohesive devices are repetitive and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'And the other people say' and 'My opnion is that the both type of people is right'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, particularly with pronoun usage like 'he consider', which disrupts the logical flow between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form throughout the text, such as 'buiding' instead of building, 'modren' instead of modern, and 'imortance' instead of importance. Less common lexical items are attempted, but frequent inaccuracies like 'high cost is spend' and 'love with modernity' cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer uses a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences, while attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'the both type of people is right', incorrect pronoun reference such as 'because he consider', and missing articles. These numerous errors can cause some difficulty and strain for the reader during comprehension.
