Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued that.there is growing concern that old building
such as town halls and art galleries, should be restored. While others thing that governments should replace them with new modern buildings. In recent years there has been significant rise issue on this.I firmly believe that our art galleries and town halls should be restore. In this eassy i will elaborate on key reasons and explain how this approach can bring numerous benefits.
On the one hand, if we restored our old art and galleries there is no doubt it whould be costly for governments.in addition we need to maintain those factors. That shows our culture and traditional.its remind our history new generation will learn from when they saw those art or galleries.we should kept in the museum also.In addition there is a ticket price to enter in the museum.whatever money we collecting from ticket we can use for maintaince.
On the other hand, Some of people things that if goverment could replace those things with new items.it will be little costly But it is a reliable decesion .The building stay longer for the year.it whould be good instrastrucre.for the long of the period we dont thing about it.modern building has new design.
In the conclusion to conclude taking everything into consideration.I strongly agree that we dont replace the old building with new one. Governments should invest some money in old the building for the renovation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task partially, as the length requirement is not met, with the response falling short of the two hundred and fifty-word minimum at two hundred and thirty-three words. The writer presents a position and attempts to discuss both views regarding the preservation versus replacement of old buildings, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For example, the argument that ticket revenue can fund museum maintenance is introduced briefly without sufficient expansion or supporting evidence. Similarly, the counterargument concerning modern infrastructure lacks clear explanation and remains underdeveloped. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to ensure the full word count is met and extend all main ideas with more relevant explanations, examples, and a more fully sustained personal position throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some organisation through basic paragraphing and rudimentary transitions like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', but there is no clear overall progression of thought. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, as seen in the clunky concluding phrases such as 'In the conclusion to conclude taking everything into consideration'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disrupted by abrupt shifts in topic. To improve coherence and achieve a clearer logical progression, the writer should employ a wider range of cohesive devices more accurately, avoid repetitive concluding formulas, and ensure that each paragraph builds smoothly upon the last with transparent links between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical range is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message, featuring frequent vocabulary and spelling errors such as 'eassy' instead of essay, 'whould', 'instrastrucre', and 'decesion'. There are noticeable issues with word choice and collocation, for instance, using 'old art and galleries' or 'for the long of the period we dont thing about it'. These inaccuracies cause some difficulty for the reader and impede smooth communication. To progress further, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, practice correct word formation, improve spelling accuracy, and learn standard collocations related to architecture, urban development, and cultural heritage.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The grammatical range is restricted, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex structures that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, article usage, plurals, and punctuation throughout the text. Examples include 'old building such as town halls and art galleries, should be restored', 'While others thing that', and missing capitalisation or punctuation errors like joining independent clauses improperly. These frequent errors cause difficulty and strain for the reader. To elevate grammatical performance, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining control over basic syntax, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation.
