Student answer (Band 5.5)
In these days old bulidings are the only things where we get knowledge from ancient things however, some think that these buildings shoud be rennovated but, others suggest that it is the responsibility of the government to build new buildings. In this essay I will discuss both points in upcoming paragraphs. I beleieve that old buildings should be restored.
There are several reasons why people support this quote as everyone knows that ancient bluidings are essential for future generation however, new generation will get knowledge about how ancient people live and how they spend their time with old equiments. For instance these old buidings have cuulture and toursit attraction if we destroy it how would our roots will stay.
Moreover, its a tourist attraction so government should spend moneyto make more attractive whether its clostly or not ,then our area must be popular because people will talk about these old buildings and that area get popular everyone want to see taht place then that place get more toursit and make more money which they used for that building. As a result, people will connect with their roots and they got more tourists for ancient buildings.
On other hand, people says that if government spend money on these old buidings then they should build new buidings so that they do not have to do mainteance in every month. As everyone knows old buiding could be expensive and may have to worried about safety but, if they build new building they that would be more spacious and more facilated. for example if they made mall on that place then they will get more profit as comnpared to old buidings. Therefore, making new buidings give more profit and safety.
From my point of view. old buidings should be maintain as we all know these are curicial in our culture and connect us with our roots. Government spend people money on their better future rather than makling new buidings.
To conclude, although modern buidings could give more facility and opportunity but old buildings give us knowldege and connect with our ancient time which is really important in these days. I beleive that ancient buildings should resorted.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether old buildings should be restored or replaced with modern alternatives and provides a clear personal opinion throughout the essay. The student presents relevant ideas, such as the cultural value and tourist appeal of historical structures versus the financial and practical benefits of modern buildings like shopping malls. However, some of these ideas are under-developed or somewhat repetitive, particularly when discussing tourism and economic benefits in the second body paragraph. While the position is maintained from the introduction through to the conclusion, the development lacks depth and specific supporting examples beyond general assertions, which keeps the task response at this level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from introducing the topic to discussing both perspectives and finally stating a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate different arguments and viewpoints. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, with repetitive transitional phrases like 'however' and 'moreover' used awkwardly. For example, sentences in the body paragraphs often run together or lack smooth referencing, such as 'For instance these old buidings have cuulture and toursit attraction if we destroy it how would our roots will stay.' These referencing and mechanical cohesion issues prevent the essay from achieving a higher band.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items related to the topic such as 'restored', 'renovated', 'culture', and 'tourist attraction'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'bulidings', 'shoud', 'rennovated', 'beleieve', 'bluidings', 'equiments', 'cuulture', 'toursit', 'clostly', 'taht', 'mainteance', 'facilated', 'curicial', and 'resorted'. Although these errors are frequent and some words are misspelled repeatedly, the meaning can still be understood by the reader. To improve, the writer needs to expand their vocabulary range and focus heavily on accurate spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as conditional and concessive clauses, seen in sentences like 'although modern buidings could give more facility and opportunity but old buildings give us knowldege...'. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('build new building'), incorrect verb forms, run-on sentences, and faulty punctuation (such as misplaced commas around conjunctions). While these errors are noticeable and require some effort from the reader to untangle, they do not completely impede communication. To move higher, the writer must improve sentence boundary control and reduce basic grammatical inaccuracies.
